The Eisenbahn brewery, part of the Heineken Group, reopened on Wednesday, October 21, the bar it runs in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. The venue was called Bar Estação Eisenbahn and had been closed for more than five years; it now returns as EisenHaus, according to Mercado&Consumo and the news site Acontecendo Aqui. Through December, it opens every day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the events schedule posted on the bar's Instagram profile.
The menu has 17 bar snacks, starting at R$ 20. The highlight is a dish signed by chef Henrique Fogaça, the brand's ambassador: beef rib tacos with cheddar, avocado, jalapeño sour cream and cilantro sprouts, for R$ 99, with Eisenbahn Pale Ale as the suggested pairing. Five house labels are served in long necks at R$ 15: Pilsen, American IPA, Pale Ale, Weizenbier and Pilsen Unfiltered. There is also draft beer in different styles, cocktails and alcohol-free options.
Eisenbahn was born in Blumenau in 2002, founded by brothers Juliano and Ricardo Mendes, inspired by the European brewing tradition. The name means railway in German and recalls an old train line that ran near the brewery. Today the brand belongs to the Heineken Group, and labels such as Eisenbahn Pilsen and Eisenbahn American IPA are listed in Bebidário's catalog. The reports do not give the bar's exact address, the investment or the venue's capacity.
The brand presents the reopening as a return to its roots. Co-founder Juliano Mendes recalled that it was in Blumenau that Eisenbahn produced its first beer.
