On the shelves of the big chains, whisky easily tops R$ 1,000. We cross-referenced the sheets in Bebidário's whiskies catalog with the September 24, 2026 price survey at Divvino, Zona Sul, Bistek, Savegnago and Giassi and picked out the ten labels with the highest ranges. For each one, what the producer presents as the reason for the price (age, cask, barrel selection) and what the flavor pyramid says.

How we chose

The list applies to the Bebidário catalog and the five stores surveyed, not to the whole market. The order runs from most to least expensive, by the lowest price found. 700 ml and 750 ml bottles were compared side by side; the only one sold exclusively in a 1 L bottle, Sinatra Select, was ranked by its price prorated to 750 ml. Seven of the ten were only in stock at one store, Zona Sul. Age, casks and selection come from the sheets, which summarize the producers' information.

1. Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami Whisky · Scotland R$ 2,799.90 · 750 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

A limited edition of Blue Label created by master blender Emma Walker with Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi, who chose the whiskies as ingredients of a dish. The case for the price is selection: according to the producer, only one in every 25,000 casks qualified for the blend, bottled at 43%. The producer's pyramid shows orange and red fruit on top, pineapple, cocoa and blackberry on the palate and a saline finish; the house suggests a spoonful of Oscietra caviar before each small sip.

2. Johnnie Walker Blue Label

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Whisky · Scotland R$ 1,328.00 to R$ 1,757.90 · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

It was born in 1992 as Johnnie Walker Oldest and got the blue label in 1994. The producer justifies the price by selection (only one in every ten thousand casks from the house's reserves would make it into the blend), and each bottle is numbered; there is no age statement. In the producer's pyramid, black pepper on top, nuts, orange peel, vanilla and honey on the palate and smoke on the finish. Between the two stores that had it, the difference exceeds R$ 400.

3. The Macallan 12 Anos Double Cask

The Macallan 12 Anos Double Cask Whisky · Scotland R$ 1,199.90 · 700 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

Speyside single malt from The Macallan, of the Edrington group, on the estate where Alexander Reid obtained a license to distill in 1824. What the producer highlights is the wood: whiskies from American and European oak casks, both seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, all at least 12 years old. The pyramid has toffee, orange peel and vanilla on top, raisin and dark chocolate on the palate and wood on the finish.

4. Royal Salute 21 Anos The Signature Blend

Royal Salute 21 Anos The Signature Blend Whisky · Scotland R$ 999.90 to R$ 1,299.90 · 700 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

Launched on June 2, 1953, the day of Elizabeth II's coronation; the name refers to the 21-gun salute, which is why every whisky from the brand is at least 21 years old. Age is the central argument, alongside the sapphire-blue flagon. Blended at the Strathisla distillery, it has, according to the producer, pear, orange peel, vanilla and smoke on top and black pepper on the finish. The house recommends drinking it neat or in cocktails such as The Mayfair, a sour.

5. Hibiki Japanese Harmony

Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky · Japan R$ 899.00 · 700 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

The only Japanese whisky on the list, it is a Suntory blend of at least ten malt and grain whiskies from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries, aged in five types of cask, among them mizunara, Japanese oak. It carries no age statement, and the 24-faceted bottle represents the micro-seasons of the Japanese year. The pyramid records rose and rosemary on top, honey, orange peel and white chocolate on the palate, vanilla and apple on the finish.

6. Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select

Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select Whisky · USA R$ 1,159.90 to R$ 1,295.90 · 1 L bottle · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

A tribute to Frank Sinatra, launched in 2012. The distinguishing feature, according to the distillery, is the Sinatra barrels, with deep grooves on the inside of the staves to expose the whiskey to more toasted oak; it is bottled at 45%. In Brazil, it is only sold in a 1 L bottle, which works out to about R$ 870 to R$ 972 per 750 ml and puts it in this position. The pyramid shows peach, apricot and ripe banana on top and oak, black tea, tobacco and vanilla on the palate.

7. Laphroaig Quarter Cask

Laphroaig Quarter Cask Whisky · Scotland R$ 839.90 · 700 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

Islay single malt, from a distillery founded in 1815, now owned by Suntory Global Spirits. The producer explains the method: after ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky moves into quarter casks, small American oak casks that increase contact with the wood, and is bottled at 48%, without chill filtration. In the pyramid, peat, coconut, ripe banana and tar on top and smoke on the palate and finish. The producer suggests it neat, with a few drops of water or on the rocks.

8. Buchanan's Special Reserve 18 Anos

Buchanan's Special Reserve 18 Anos Whisky · Scotland R$ 799.90 · 750 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

A Diageo blend of grain whiskies and single malts aged for at least 18 years in oak casks that previously held sherry: age and cask are the argument. According to the pyramid, orange peel and cereal on top, orange, cherry, nuts and honey on the palate, orange and nuts on the finish. The producer recommends it neat or on the rocks.

9. Johnnie Walker 18 Anos

All the whiskies in the recipe are at least 18 years old, in casks the producer says it chooses by hand. The pyramid shows malt and smoke on top, orange peel, almond, vanilla and tangerine on the palate and wood on the finish; neat or on the rocks, according to the house.

10. Ardbeg 10 Years

Ardbeg 10 Years Whisky · Scotland R$ 606.90 · 750 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

Islay single malt made with barley dried over peat smoke and distilled with a purifier on the still's lyne arm, which sends part of the vapors back for redistillation. It matures for at least ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and is bottled at 46%, without chill filtration. The producer describes smoke, lemon, mint and tar on top, peat and salinity on the palate and coffee on the finish.
