You can set up a home bar that makes the classics for under R$ 300. The kit below has seven bottles, one for each drink base: cachaça, gin, rum, vodka, bitter, vermouth and whisky. With them you can make the caipirinha, gin and tonic, Negroni, Cuba Libre, Moscow Mule and highball, the drinks in our guide 7 easy drinks to make at home.

How we chose

Only labels from the Bebidário catalog with a price in our shelf survey were included, giving preference to those the producer itself recommends for the drink in question. For the tally, we used the lowest price found for each bottle on 09/24/2026. Mixers, fruit, ice and accessories are left out of the sum.

The tally

Velho Barreiro Tradicional, R$ 15.90; Gordon's London Dry, R$ 59.90; Bacardí Carta Blanca, R$ 39.90; Smirnoff No. 21, R$ 32.90; Campari, R$ 48.90; Cinzano Rosso, R$ 47.90; Passport Scotch, R$ 49.90. Total: R$ 295.30, with R$ 4.70 to spare.

Note: the lowest prices come from different stores. Paying the highest price in the table for each bottle, the same list would come to R$ 412.95.

1. Cachaça: Velho Barreiro Tradicional

Velho Barreiro Tradicional Cachaça · Brazil R$ 15.90 to R$ 19.95 · 910 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

It is the base of the caipirinha. Per the recipe of the IBA, the International Bartenders Association: 60 ml of cachaça, 1 Tahiti lime in pieces and 4 teaspoons of sugar, muddled in a rocks glass, with crushed ice. IRB, the maker, recommends Velho Barreiro neat, in fruit cocktails or in a lime caipirinha; the pyramid shows sugarcane, brown sugar and pear on top, honey and cinnamon on the palate.

2. Gin: Gordon's London Dry

Gordon's London Dry Gin · United Kingdom R$ 59.90 to R$ 102.90 · 750 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

The most expensive bottle in the kit does double duty: it goes into the gin and tonic and the Negroni. Difford's Guide uses 50 ml of gin to 120 ml of tonic, in a chilled tall glass full of ice, with a lime wedge. Diageo proposes Gordon's precisely with tonic water.

3. Rum: Bacardí Carta Blanca

Bacardí Carta Blanca Rum · Cuba R$ 39.90 to R$ 59.90 · 700 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

White rum, as the IBA's Cuba Libre calls for: 50 ml of rum, 120 ml of cola and 10 ml of fresh lime juice, in a tall glass with ice. Bacardí also recommends Carta Blanca for the mojito and daiquiri. In the catalog pyramid, almond, orange blossom and lime open, with vanilla and brown sugar on the palate.

4. Vodka: Smirnoff No. 21

Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka · Russia R$ 32.90 to R$ 44.90 · 998 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

The IBA's official Moscow Mule recipe names Smirnoff itself: 45 ml of vodka, 120 ml of ginger beer and 10 ml of lime juice. Diageo also recommends No. 21 for the caipiroska and vodka tonic, which makes use of the tonic bought for the gin and tonic.

5. Bitter: Campari

Campari Liqueur · Italy R$ 48.90 to R$ 64.90 · 748 ml · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

Without it there is no Negroni: equal parts gin, Campari and red vermouth, 30 ml of each per the IBA, stirred in a rocks glass with ice and half an orange slice. The producer also suggests the Campari Soda, with just soda water.

6. Vermouth: Cinzano Rosso

Cinzano Rosso Liqueur · Italy R$ 47.90 to R$ 56.50 · 1 liter · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

It completes the Negroni and, with Campari and soda, makes the Americano, which Cinzano itself cites among the house recipes, alongside vermouth neat or with a little soda. The pyramid shows vanilla, cherry, toffee and clove on top and wormwood on the finish. Those who prefer Martini Rosso, in 750 ml, which the house recommends for the Americano, pay from R$ 49.90, and the tally rises to R$ 297.30, still within the limit.

7. Whisky: Passport Scotch

Passport Scotch Whisky · Scotland R$ 49.90 to R$ 63.90 · 1 liter · Sept/2026 See the full profile →

For the highball, Difford's Guide calls for 60 ml of whisky in a chilled tall glass full of ice, topped with soda water or ginger ale and an orange or lemon slice. Pernod Ricard recommends Passport neat, on the rocks or with soda. The pyramid shows pear, dark chocolate and orange peel on top and a palate of dark caramel, raspberry and smoke.

What the kit makes

With the seven bottles you can make the caipirinha, gin and tonic, Negroni, Americano, Campari Soda, Cuba Libre, mojito, daiquiri, Moscow Mule, caipiroska, vodka tonic and whisky highball. The measures and step-by-step for six of them are in the guide 7 easy drinks to make at home.

Next step: the Aperol Spritz

The Spritz was left out because it calls for two more bottles. Aperol costs from R$ 54.90 to R$ 76.50 and Salton Prosecco from R$ 37.90 to R$ 49.50 (Sept/2026): another R$ 92.80 at the lowest price. The producer teaches the 3-2-1 rule: 90 ml of prosecco, 60 ml of Aperol and 30 ml of soda water, in a large glass with ice and an orange slice.

Not in the tally

The mixers (tonic water, cola, ginger beer and soda water), limes, oranges, sugar and ice go on the shopping list, but not in the sum. For accessories, the basics are a tall glass, a rocks glass, a jigger to get the milliliters right, a long bar spoon for stirring and a muddler for the caipirinha.
