From R$ 79.90 to R$ 606.90: blends, bourbons, single malts, an Irish and a Japanese, with a recent competition medal
To build this list, we cross-referenced two things that can be checked: what international competition juries said about each bottle in the last three years and how much it costs today on Brazilian shelves. The result is ten whiskies from the Bebidário catalog, from R$ 79.90 to R$ 606.90, in order from cheapest to most expensive.
The criterion was having at least one gold medal or higher (Gold, Double Gold or Best in Show) at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) or the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2024, 2025 or 2026, checked against the official results of both competitions. At the SFWSC, according to the organizer The Tasting Alliance, the judges taste blind. There is one declared exception: The Chita, with silver at the IWSC 2026, was included to represent the Japanese style, because no Japanese whisky with a price in our survey has a gold in the results we consulted. Only bottles with a price in the Sept/2026 survey, up to about R$ 600, were included. A medal does not guarantee you will like it; for taste, see each sheet's pyramid.
Black & White is a blended Scotch launched in 1884 by James Buchanan. According to Diageo, it combines 35 malts with grain whiskies. It is the cheapest on the list and took Double Gold at the SFWSC 2024 (in 2026, silver). The sheet's pyramid shows toffee, honey and ginger at the start and apple, cinnamon and clove on the finish. The house suggests 50 ml on the rocks, in a rocks glass.
Jameson is the Irish whiskey on the list: a blend of grain whiskey and pot still whiskey from malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled, with malt dried without peat. It won gold at the SFWSC 2024 and at the New York World Spirits Competition 2025, from the same organizer, and silver at the IWSC 2025. In the pyramid, cereal, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla on the palate, and a buttery finish. Without smoke, it is a starting point for anyone getting to know whisky.
Old Parr 12 Anos is a blend based on Cragganmore and Glendullan malts, all at least 12 years old. It has the best record in its price range: Double Gold and Best in Show at the SFWSC 2024 and Double Gold again in 2025. The pyramid starts with vanilla, toasted grain, honey and a touch of peat, moves through nuts, grapefruit and smoke and ends with orange peel and pepper. Diageo recommends drinking it neat or with a little water.
Wild Turkey 101 is a 6- to 8-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, aged in oak with a No. 4 char, the deepest, and bottled at 50.5%. It took gold at the SFWSC 2026. The pyramid has vanilla, cinnamon and toffee at the start, caramel and pepper on the palate and orange peel and tobacco on the finish. Given the high strength, the brand's suggestion is worth following: on the rocks or in an Old Fashioned.
Black Label brings together single malts and grain whiskies from various regions of Scotland, all at least 12 years old. It won gold at the SFWSC 2024, as well as silver at the IWSC 2024. According to the producer, it has wood, toffee, vanilla and light peat at the start, smoke, pepper, green apple and pear on the palate and orange peel on the finish. The brand suggests drinking it neat, on the rocks or in a highball.
Maker's Mark is a bourbon that swaps rye for red winter wheat: 70% corn, 16% wheat and 14% malted barley, at 45%. In 2026 it took gold at both competitions, the SFWSC and the IWSC. The producer's pyramid is short: wood, vanilla and cereal, with a creamy finish.
Singleton of Dufftown 12 Anos is the cheapest single malt in our price survey. Made solely from malted barley in Speyside, it took Double Gold at the SFWSC three years running, in 2024, 2025 and 2026. According to the producer, it has nuts, apple, raisin and brown sugar, with coffee and blackberry on the palate. The house recommends drinking it neat.
Eagle Rare 10 Anos is a bourbon from the Buffalo Trace distillery, with the house's low-rye recipe, ten years in charred barrels and 45%. It took gold at the IWSC 2025, and Eagle Rare Straight Bourbon, the brand's standard label, had Double Gold at the SFWSC in 2024, 2025 and 2026. The producer's pyramid shows toffee, orange peel, honey and leather, then almond, cocoa and caramel.
The Chita is the list's exception, with silver at the IWSC 2026. It is Suntory's single grain, distilled mainly from corn in continuous column stills and aged in American oak, wine casks and Spanish oak. According to the producer, it has cardamom, honey and rose at the start, mint on the palate and wood on the finish. In the catalog profile, it has the lightest body on the list (4.5 out of 10).
Ardbeg 10 Years is an Islay single malt, made with barley dried over peat smoke, aged in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 46%, without chill filtration. It took Double Gold at the SFWSC 2025 and gold at the IWSC 2025. The producer's pyramid opens with smoke, lemon, lime and tar, continues with peat, salt and ripe banana and closes with coffee. In the catalog profile, it has the highest bitterness on the list (4 out of 10).
The ranges are shelf prices surveyed on 09/24/2026 at the online stores of Divvino, Zona Sul, Bistek, Savegnago and Giassi, for the bottle indicated on the card. When only one store had the product in stock, the range is a single value. Prices change over time and from store to store: check before buying.
The whiskies on this list range from 40% to 50.5% alcohol: pour small measures and drink responsibly. If you are driving, don't drink.
