Christmas gift: a drink for every price range
From up to R$ 100 to over R$ 800: wine, sparkling wine, liqueur, gin and whisky from the catalog, with store prices

From up to R$ 100 to over R$ 800: wine, sparkling wine, liqueur, gin and whisky from the catalog, with store prices
A bottle is an easy gift to wrap, as long as it matches the taste of the person receiving it. We set out five price ranges, from up to R$ 100 to over R$ 800, and two suggestions from the Bebidário catalog in each, varying between wine, sparkling wine, liqueur, gin and whisky.
We only included drinks with a price in Bebidário's survey of five Brazilian stores, in Sep 2026, whose price range fits within the guide's bracket. Within each bracket, we looked for different styles and a concrete reason to give them as a gift, as stated by the producer: a well-known story, a production method, a bottle designed to be kept, an award. This is not a quality ranking: the best gift is the style the person already likes.
Periquita is the best-known red from José Maria da Fonseca, a Setúbal house founded in 1834, and the producer presents it as the first red wine bottled in Portugal, with the brand dating from 1850. Castelão, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet spend six months in new oak; in the pyramid, blackberry, plum, raspberry and vanilla. The house recommends it with meats, game and cheeses, which helps at the Christmas dinner.
Carta Nevada is a cava, a Spanish sparkling wine made with a second fermentation in the bottle, like Champagne, and nine months of aging. Launched in 1941, it was Freixenet's big sales hit. The demi-sec version has 38 g/L of sugar, with peach, apple and honey in the pyramid: a gift for those who prefer a sweeter sparkling wine. The differences between the styles are in the guide Prosecco, cava or Champagne.
Amarula is a South African cream liqueur made with the fruit of the marula tree, hand-picked from late January to March. The pulp is fermented, distilled twice and matured for two years in oak before cream and sugar are added. In the pyramid, vanilla and toast, cream in the body and nuts on the finish. It is the gift for someone who doesn't drink spirits neat.
Buchanan's 12 is a blended Scotch with whiskies at least 12 years old, and Diageo highlights the Dalwhinnie malt in the recipe. The brand says that in 1885 James Buchanan's blend began to be served in the British House of Commons. In the pyramid, orange peel, dark chocolate and cereal, with smoke on the finish; the house suggests it on the rocks or with sparkling water and orange peel. The liter bottle went for R$ 219.90 to R$ 283.90.
Roku is Suntory's Japanese gin. It uses six botanicals from Japan, among them sakura flower and leaf, sencha and gyokuro teas, sansho pepper and yuzu, each harvested in its season and distilled separately. The bottle is hexagonal, with a botanical embossed on each face and a washi paper label. According to Suntory, it was named best distilled gin at the 2025 International Spirits Challenge.
El Enemigo is the Malbec from the project of Adrianna Catena, daughter of Nicolás Catena Zapata, with winemaker Alejandro Vigil. The grapes come from Gualtallary, in the Uco Valley, at 1,470 meters, and the wine matures for 15 months in large vats, barrels and concrete. In the pyramid, blackberry, violet, tar and black pepper. For someone who already drinks Malbec and wants to step up.
Veuve Clicquot is the flagship brut of the Reims house founded in 1772 and taken over by Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin when she was widowed, at 27; the yellow label was registered in 1877. It has Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier, up to 45% reserve wines and about three years in the cellar. In the pyramid, pear, green apple, peach and brioche. The house recommends serving it between 8 °C and 10 °C.
Chivas 18 is a blended Scotch with malt and grain whiskies at least 18 years old, signed by master blender Sandy Hyslop. It joined the range in 1997. In the pyramid, raisin, toffee and dark chocolate at the start, orange, pear, apple and smoke in the body, black pepper on the finish. The producer suggests it neat, on the rocks or in an Old Fashioned.
Hibiki is Suntory's Japanese blend with whiskies from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries, aged in five types of cask, including Japanese mizunara oak. The bottle has 24 facets, one for each micro-season of the Japanese year, and the label is washi paper with calligraphy by Tansetsu Ogino. In the pyramid, rose, honey, orange peel and white chocolate. More about it in the guide Japanese whisky: where to start.
Royal Salute 21 was launched on June 2, 1953, the day of Elizabeth II's coronation, and the name recalls the 21-gun salute, which is why every whisky from the brand is at least 21 years old. It is blended at the Strathisla distillery and comes in a sapphire-blue flagon inspired by the Crown Jewels. In the pyramid, pear, orange peel, vanilla and nuts, with smoke and black pepper. To go further, the guide to the 10 most expensive whiskies goes up to Blue Label.
About the prices: these are shelf prices surveyed on September 24, 2026 at the online stores of Divvino, Zona Sul, Bistek, Savegnago and Giassi, for a single 700 or 750 ml bottle; gift sets with a glass or case were left out. They change over time and from store to store.
Drink responsibly, and only give alcohol as a gift to people over 18. At the party, whoever drives doesn't drink.
